Job description
Software Emporium Inc is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Technician to join our growing team in Dawson Creek.
As a Senior Network Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing our clients' network infrastructures.
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting network solutions while ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
This role requires hands-on expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff.
Qualifications and Experience
Requirements:
Proven experience (5+ years) in network administration, design, and troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.), network security practices, and network monitoring tools.
Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment.
Familiarity with firewall management and VPN technologies.
Experience with Microsoft 365, including managing users, security, and migrations.
Experience with MSP tools like RMM, EDR, and cloud monitoring platforms.
Knowledge of on-premise server environments, such as Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
Familiarity with network security solutions, including IDS, IPS, and firewall management.
Ability to analyze complex technical issues and communicate solutions effectively.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with clients and team members.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent) are preferred.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
